He denies any knowledge on them. But he has fun joking with Jimmy Kimmel that they are “told” what to say when asked about classified information on UFOs and aliens.

He believes. He has reported two encounters:
First Sighting: His first sighting was California when he told guests at a party they were attending that they were late because he and Nancy had seen a UFO while coming down the coast highway to Los Angeles and they had stopped to watch it. Lucille Ball overheard him and wrote about what he said in her book, “Lucy in the Afternoon: An Intimate Memoir of Lucille Ball.”
Second Sighting: His second sighting was in 1974 in Bakersfield, California. He told the story to Norman C. Miller, then Washington Bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal. He said, “I was in a plane last week and when I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around, so I went up to the pilot and asked, “Have you seen anything like that before?” The surprised pilot replied, “Nope.” I said, “Let’s follow it! We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light. We followed it to Bakersfield and all of a sudden, to our utter amazement, it went straight up into the heavens. When we got off the plane, I told Nancy all about it.” His pilot backed his story. Read more details of his sightings here.
His quote: “In President Reagan’s 1987 United Nations speech on the alien threat, he stated, “Perhaps we need some outside universal threat to make us recognize this common bound. I occasionally think about how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish, if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. And yet, I ask you, is not an alien force already among us?”
Ronald Reagan brought up the possibility of an alien invasion from outer space, and he has talked about it in several speeches.

Admits he knows some classified information about UFOs.
On March 7, 1988, during a trip to a George Bush was approached by a UFO researcher by the name of Charles Huffer. This is the conversation that Huffer taped.
“Mr. Bush, Mr. President,” asked Mr. Huffer (in the excitement of the moment Mr. Huffer called him President). “Will you tell the people the truth about UFOs?”
“Yeah,” replied Bush. Then realizing what he has just said Bush added, “If we can find it, what it is. We are really interested.”
“You’ll have it, you’ll have it.” said Huffer. “It’s in there. (I meant it would be in his briefing when he became president) Declassify it and tell us, ok?”
“OK,” said Bush, ” alright, yes.”
Bush then entered the building where he met with the local Arkansas press. Huffer remained outside waiting for Bush to come back out. When he did emerge from the building, Huffer his tape recorder running told George Bush, “Going to hold you to that promise.”
“Alright,” replied Bush.
“OK,” said Huffer, “you’re going to get it.” (I meant the UFO information)
“Why don’t you send me some information about it? ” asked Bush.
“Naw,” said Huffer, “you’re a CIA man. You know all that stuff.”
” I know some,” replied Bush. “I know a fair amount”
