What is the Mandela Effect?

For those of you who have not heard of the Mandela Effect, it is a weird glitch in our memories or as many believe, the earth may have jumped to a parallel universe much like our own, but with tiny differences that account for strange “mass wrong memories.” If this sounds confusing, here are some examples below of the things that mass amounts of people remember, but seems to have changed and been wiped out of our history. The name of the theory comes a “false or altered” memory regarding Nelson Mandela.

  1. Nelson Mandela, died in the 80s’s or in 2013?

    Many people say they remember Nelson Mandela dying while he was still in prison back in the ’80s and that they remember seeing his funeral on TV. In our current history our records say Mandela’s actual death was on Dec. 5, 2013. Read more here about the Nelson Mandela controversy.

    Speaking of Star Wars, another strange change in things as we thought we knew it, is that C-3PO is all gold, except one silver leg. Do any of you recall him ever having just one silver leg from the knee down?

    Are we just remembering it wrong? Many of us swear he sang, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.” That’s not what it was, though, if you listen now, it says, “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,” What do you think?

Plus, earlier in the film when his mom actually says that to him, she says it the original way that we all remember.

    We all remember this line from Snow White right? Well, wrong. It actually is, “Magic Mirror on the wall.” What? No, how can this be?

    Or was he? A lot of people report that they remember the Monopoly man running with a bag of money in his hands. But really in the game, he has never carried one.
